We started our adventure in Buenos Aires with a bike tour that gave us a good feel for the city.
We enjoyed this colorful neighborhood in the historic port area, lined with brightly painted buildings, tango dancers and art stalls.
Steak, fish, empanadas, and wine are all local specialties you need to try!
Our bike tour ended at a place of great importance to Argentine locals, the soccer stadium.
We were blessed on this 13-mile day with a peek at the peak of the elusive, often cloud-covered Mt. Fitzroy.
Crazy, unpredictable weather is just part of the Patagonia experience. We had sun, wind, sideways blowing rain that nearly swept us off our feet, and even a late spring snow!
Near El Calafate, the Perito Merano Glacier was an exceeds expectations experience. Just wow!
A boat tour took us past icebergs and right up to the 200-foot wall of ice that is the glacier.
The first day of the classic W-Trek in Torres del Paine National Park.
After a tough first day of hiking to The Towers, we camped at Lake Azul. What a view!
The second day's hike was relatively flat walking with views of the water. Yes, the water is that blue.
It was a bit of a rocky climb today, but great views of the lake below and the French glacier above.
We stayed at established camps all along the W-trek. All offered great food and facilities.
One last day of hiking to a windy view point of the Grey Glacier.
We finish the 4-days on the W-trek a boat ride across the lake and look back on the areas we hiked. Such a great experience!
G Adventures put together an amazing itinerary with great tour and hike leaders. While we went with our own mini-group, we also met other hikers from around the world.
